2018 Board Supervisor Election

Underwood Conservation District is governed by a five member board of supervisors, as set out in RCW Chapter 89.08 and WAC Section 135-110.  The election for an open position on the District Board of Supervisors will be held on February 20, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Underwood Conservation District office, 170 NW Lincoln Street, White Salmon, WA.

The elected position whose term is expiring in May 2018 is currently held by Joyce Eastwick.  The appointed position whose term is expiring in May 2018 is currently held by Barbara Bailey.

Interested candidates must be registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the District.  Candidates may be required to be landowners or operators of a farm, depending on the current composition of the District Board of Supervisors.

The filing deadline for candidates to file their elected position candidate information is January 23, 2018, 1:00 PM.  Interested candidates must file their candidate information at the following location:  Underwood Conservation District office, 170 NW Lincoln Street, White Salmon, WA.

The filing deadline for candidates to file their appointed position application is March 31, 2018.  For more information or to obtain an application form, please contact Underwood Conservation District at 509-493-1936, or visit the Conservation Commission website at www.scc.wa.gov.

Eligible voters are registered voters who reside within the boundaries of the District.  The last day and time that voters can request absentee ballots from the District is January 30, 2018, 1:00 PM.  Absentee ballots can be requested from Ann Gross at Underwood Conservation District, 509-493-1936.

A conservation district supervisor is a public official who serves without compensation and who sets policy and direction for the conservation district.  The published election procedures can be viewed at the District office and are available from the Washington State Conservation Commission at www.scc.wa.gov.
