UCD assisted a local rancher with this spring development project.  Spring water was collected in a spring box and piped underground to a trough.  The trough was designed to withstand pressure from cattle as well as freeze and thaw events.  The goals of the spring development project were to provide a watering point for wildlife and cattle during the range season and reduce mud and erosion in and around the spring.  This project was funded through UCD’s conservation cost share program.
