Product Description

The tree that’s range is synonymous with the Pacific Northwest, the western red-cedar can grow in a wide range of soil types, but it is best adapted to soils that are moist and fine textured. It can be abundant in forested swamps and riparian areas. Browsing by deer, elk, and rodents can result in significant damage to young seedlings and saplings and may require appropriate protection.

Sold by the bundle (10 trees per bundle).

Fun Fact: Western Red Cedar is also known as the “Tree of life” for all of it’s uses to indigenous peoples and early settlers. The thick canopy will often provide dry shelter in even the worst of storms. Cedar was also used for Canoe building and Totem Poles as the wood would last a long time due to natural preservatives!
