Fun Fact: Western Red Cedar is also known as the “Tree of life” for all of it’s uses to indigenous peoples and early settlers. The thick canopy will often provide dry shelter in even the worst of storms. Cedar was also used for Canoe building and Totem Poles as the wood would last a long time due to natural preservatives!
