Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus)

The hardy snowberry tolerates both sun and shade, can withstand drought and/or occasional flooding, and spreads quickly even in poor soil or on steep hillsides. Small pinkish-white flowers bloom in spring, and the white berries often last through the winter months. Snowberry stays small, averaging three or four feet tall and so can be a good choice for areas where view corridors are important. Snowberry is an important native wildlife plant, providing food and shelter for many species, including deer, birds, and pollinators.
