Beaver Resources
Do you need information about beavers? We have an excellent resource in our area, The Wishpush Working Group. “The mission of the Wishpush Working Group is to support and promote sustainable populations of beavers for a host of ecological benefits, leading to healthier and more resilient watersheds for the benefit of fish, wildlife, and human communities. The effort is a collaboration of multiple organizations working in the Columbia tributaries south of Mt. Adams. The working group has four focus areas.”
Wishpush works in collaboration with Mid-Columbia Fisheries and the Mt. Adams Resource Stewards. Beaver resource pages can be found through their websites. Mid- Columbia Fisheries has excellent information on the importance of beaver in relation to climate change and how they play a key role in habitat restoration. Their resources can be found here: www.midcolumbiafisheries.org/beaver-2. Mt. Adams Resource Stewards can help with beaver relocation and also has important information to share on their website: www.mtadamsstewards.org/beaver-relocation. To learn more about The Benefits of Beaver, go to our archived webinars page and scroll down the page to watch our Winter Workshop recording from the 2021-2022 season covering this important topic.
